This is my shiny new Blog. Don't get your hopes up too high. It just might suck.

Huh it's been a minute. Sorry guys. Or self more likely. Anyway I've been busy both at work and at play.

I'm still catching up on One Piece and Doctor who. I'm now reading the 6th book of Kushiel's Legacy, and I'm on the 7th season of Doctor who, Episode 3. So only 2 more episodes and I'm caught up on Doctor Who. Mythbusters started airing again and it was just as awesome as expected. After Doctor Who I am going to watch Warehouse 13, Eureka and maybe Torchwood.

I've started knitting on my first sock! I'm using size 6 dpns, and I'm getting a fairly tight gauge. They will be house socks if they come out right. But I'm just about to stop ribbing, I'm doing a 3, 1 rib, and start stockinette stitch. The yarn is a red variegated but I can't remember what the fiber content is. Oh well. But I'm enjoying having purse knitting that I can pull out and work on for a minute or two.

Nothing else much going on, my partner's family is coming home from Germany after a few years, so that will be fun. Hopefully we don't have to host their birds while they get stuff sorted out. Anyway I need to go to bed so I'll talk to you all later. Night!

Doctor Who, One Piece and Kushiel's Legacy

So, I've watched a few more episodes of Doctor Who. I'm about to watch episode 13 of season 6. It's getting really good, although I don't know how the 7th season is going to work because I know matt smith is still there but everyone is talking about the Doctor dying. Oh well, I'll see. I really enjoyed the episode with Craig and his baby as companions. Nice little filler-ish episode. But an important one for us realizing things about the Doctor emotion wise.

I restarted reading One Piece. I am in the middle of the Fishman Island Arc, so I only have about 100 chapters or so left until I'm current I think. I like it a lot but I can only read so much of it before I have to put it away. I forgot to mention earlier that I'm in the middle of the series Kushiels' Legacy by Jacqueline Carey. The series is made up of 3 trilogies. I just started Kushiel's Scion which is the 4th book in the series and the 1st book in the 2nd trilogy. Nice long books that are alternate history with a fantasy flare.

I haven't been knitting much since I finished my coworker's baby hat. Although she may have had the baby already as she isn't on the schedule for the foreseeable future. Oh well, I'm sure that we'll give it to her when she comes back or visits or something.

That's all for now. Have a good night and don't blink.

Halloween Costume Ideas, Book and Tv updates.

So here I am again. I seem to do better blogging at night. Anyhow, let me tell you what I'm up to. It's not even October and I'm thinking of Halloween. But my job encourages costumes sooo...  I'm thinking of doing a Ravenclaw scarf and adding it to a blue blouse, black pants and silver feather earrings to make a Harry Potter costume. I just need to go through my stash and see if I have the yarn or if I need to buy some. I like the smaller random stripes. I may use the drinking game style knitting for the stripe pattern. I won't be able to make it to my knitting group this week, as it is my partner's b-day. Yay for video games and Key lime pie!

I'm on the 10th episode of season 6 for doctor who and I'm loving it! I mostly watch during my partner's video game time. I should get some more in this weekend. I'm up to season 4 in Warehouse 13, it's one of my favorite american tv shows.

I have been reading more recently. I'm currently reading Kushiel's Avatar by Jacqueline Carey. A good fantasy novel. It's the third in the series, I think the last one. But there is a sequel series, all though I'm not sure if it has the same characters or is just set in the same universe. I'm on page 370 now, might make it to 400 before I go to sleep. Considering the book has 1862 pages, I'm not even a quarter of the way through. But I do love long books. Especially long books on the nook, so there is no heavy book to carry around and  the nook fits in my purse!

Anyway, have a good night all. Sleep tight, don't let the knitting needles bite. :)

Knitting is awesome plus my late night ramblings

I just went to the first knitting group at the new store Wools and Tools in town and had a blast. It was so much fun to talk to everyone. There were delicious treats, in both yarn and food form. Noro, Trekking, Merino, and more. The blog had a picture up of the owner, Jennifer's yarn that she spun and dyed and it is even more gorgeous in person and so soft too. Here is the link to the post on her blog. Wools and Tools

I am knitting on a baby hat for my coworker and it's going nicely. Almost 4 in long now, which means I only have 2 more in. to go until I start the decreases. I like how it's turning out. Plus it is my first project on DPNs.

I think this may become more of a knitting/crafting blog for me. As opposed to something just random. At any rate I hope you all enjoyed it. Allon-y, all.

1 AM add on (Thanks Pintrest/Internet) Due to the gorgeous yarn she showed us (the yarn mentioned above) I really want to overdye yarn now. Like buy some cheap pastel baby yarn and over dye it. Maybe some cotton and make dishcloths and blankets. Also I am now on Episode 6 of season 10 of Doctor Who. Only 5 episodes left in the season and 9 (for now) episodes left until I'm caught up. After that Warehouse 13 and Eureka. After that, who knows. Maybe Sherlock or Fourtysomething, I do miss House. Any suggestions?

Time for bed for me. Sleep tight, hope the Silence/Weeping Angels/Artifacts/Slender doesn't bite. Or exist.
